I got challenged on this last time I posted this advice, but back when I was researching crafting staves I read on this sub that the largest total damage increase comes from crafting a masterpiece (+10% all stats). Basically, the extra 10% DPS works out to be a bigger boost to your overall damage than any offensive effect.
